RBC: The 2026 Surge in RAM Flash Pricing

RBC: The 2026 Surge in RAM Flash Pricing
What is RBC you may ask? Coined by the man himself (TechMike in case you were wondering), and forged out of a need to describe this unprecedented market in which we find ourselves, RBC stands for RAM Be Crazy! And yes our fellow nerds, RAM truly be crazy!

With Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) exiting production of DDR4 memory, and while a large infrastructure of systems that use DDR4 RAM remains in production, the shortage of DDR4 sticks has sent prices skyrocketing, if you can even get your hands on them.

And while we continue to do our best to absorb most of these increases, we have reluctantly had to increase pricing ourselves as well. Because of our commitment to you folks however - our commitment to offer the best quality at the most affordable price - we are currently selling several specs at below cost. We have also made sure to keep all specs and capacities in stock despite the scarcity in the market, because we know how much you all love those CTO options! We're sorry, and you're welcome!

PCPartPicker has visualized historical pricing for consumer memory, identifying a trend that neccessarily parallels the increases seen in server modules. Since January 2025, the average price of a 2x32GB DDR4-3200 kit has surged from the low $100s to the high $500s.

If that chart makes your wallet weep, you aren’t alone. While the PCPartPicker data highlights the consumer struggle, the server landscape is facing its own unique version of "RBC." Enterprise clients are holding onto their DDR4-based architecture longer than anticipated, and with new production halting, the secondary market is now the primary battle ground for inventory.  Thankfully, our sales team is battle-ready. They’re equipped with Best-in-Slot gear, fully buffed, and ready to assist via phone or email 9-5PM EST.

We know "RAM Be Crazy" right now, but we are committed to keeping your servers spinning without breaking the bank. We will continue to scour the earth for inventory so you can keep configuring those dream machines.   Browse our current memory inventory here.
